Frequently Asked Questions

Jeff Jones, Founder and CEO InCompass Ink

Whether or not you spend time in the spotlight, hair loss can make it feel like your head and hair are the center of attention.

My entire career has been spent in front of crowds of people. From being a schoolteacher, to speaking to large crowds of executives at major corporations as a corporate trainer, all eyes were on me. Desperate for any solution I could find, I reluctantly joined various hair clubs, since only hairpieces or painful and expensive hair transplants were available at the time. I was left to hide behind expensive, high-maintenance hair pieces. And I spent hours carefully combing, spraying, and styling what hair I did have so I could conceal my baldness.

Then one day I discovered scalp micropigmentation and I knew it was the answer I was looking for!

Walk in, drive in, or fly in for your SMP experience. Clients fly in from all over the country to experience the InCompass Ink SMP difference.  Most companies sell sessions where each session builds on the first and all are priced separately.  This method raises lots of questions: How much will you actually be spending for my SMP experience? How many sessions will it take for your specific situation?  What’s the real cost when we count the travel time, time off work, etc.?

Local clients come in for their appointment and drive home right after. Those from farther away can fly in the night before, get their SMP treatment, and fly home that evening.  Then they come back for any touch-ups needed for free within 6 months from their original SMP.

A hair restoration alternative for people seeking a non-surgical solution to hair loss. Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is a pigmentation method using multiple shades of proprietary inks, creating thousands of tiny impressions on the skin. Each impression resembles an individual hair follicle. This gives the appearance of real hair, and for men, a shaved head appearance.

SMP is a proprietary technique of using multiple shades of pigment applied to the scalp with micro-fine needles. These pigments are applied at the epidermal level of your scalp. Although ink with its various shades of pigment give the appearance of real hair. This is a comfortable semi-permanent procedure, offering full results in as little as one session. A touch up every 3-6 years is recommended.

Some people experience discomfort, and many people say they feel a slight stinging sensation. Reactions vary from person to person. Numbing cream is not used because it swells the skin and pushes the pigment out.

The process can take as little as 1-2 hours for touch-ups or small additions, and up to 6-8 hours for a complete SMP head pigmentation. At InCompass Ink we dedicate the entire day to you! We’ll pay your parking, buy your lunch, and focus entirely on you in a private and comfortable setting.

The life of your SMP varies drastically depending on how its cared for, the average is 5-10 years. After that time, a client may experience some slight fading, to which they can come back in for a quick touch-up. We offer free appointments the first six months, to make sure you are happy. If you’d like to enhance your SMP procedure after six months, it’s $595 for each additional touch-up appointment you desire.
